Henri van Lidth de Jeude is Belgian. He arrived at the ITI in January 2005 where he began work as the ITI Office Director. From February 2006 he was responsible for finding a new campus for the ITI. In September 2006 the Board of Trustees appointed him Director of Finance and Administration.
Previously, from 2000 till 2004, he worked as an attorney (Advocaat), admitted to the Brussels’ Bar, for the Belgian law firm Elegis. He advised local governments and corporations on Construction, Land use planning, Environment Law; and on General Business, Corporate and Financial Criminal Law, Competition and Market regulation. He also advised private persons on International refugee law, EU-citizenship rights and access to public services.
He has given classes and conferences on the History of the European Institutions, European Human Rights and on the Social Doctrine of the Catholic Church.
Henri van Lidth de Jeude completed his law degree in 1999 following studies at the Universities of Namur, Leuven and Krakow. He further obtained specialised Master degrees in European and International Law at the University of Louvain-la-Neuve (2000) and Environmental Law in Brussels (FUSL-CEDRE, 2001).
He is currently working on a Master in the Theology of Evangelisation at the Lateran University in Rome.
He is fluent in Dutch, French, English, German and Italian and has a passive knowledge of Polish.
