Propaedeutic Year
Candidates for the STM Second Phase program (Semesters 7–10)
must furnish evidence of prior studies in philosophy and theology
so that (together with their studies in Gaming) they satisfy
the requirements for the Canonical Baccalaureate in Theology
according to Sapientia Christiana. The Director of Studies
will determine on a case-by-case basis which courses shall
be required of a candidate.
The Propaedeutic Year comprises
1. reading the whole of Scripture;
2. Patrology;
3. introduction
to logic, natural philosophy, philosophical anthropology, metaphysics,
and ethics, via Aristotle’s
Categories, Peri Hermeneias, Posterior Analytics, Physics I-II,
De Anima, Metaphysics, Nicomachean Ethics, and other readings;
4. introduction to theological anthropology
