Over the years we have come to realize that the best way to truly grasp the mission and uniqueness of the ITI is for people to visit us and share the university life of our campus. The ITI offers an up to 5-day, 6-night, open house program where prospective students can get a taste of the ITI academic, liturgical, and social life and its surroundings. Visitors attend normal classes and have special meetings with the program directors and get a special tour of the campus, of the partner campus Holy Cross Abbey (Heiligenkreuz), and of the city of Vienna. By Plane: The closest main airport is Vienna International Airport (VIE) - about 40 km (25 miles) away. The next closes airport is the one in Bratislava, Slovakia (BTS) – about 100 km (62 miles) away.
By Car: To drive from Vienna take the Interstate Highway A2; Take exit 19-Traiskirchen for B17. Turn right at B17/Wiener Neustädter Strasse. (There are signs for Pfaffstätten/Traiskirchen/Trumau) Turn right at Trumauer Strasse. Continue on Traiskirchner Strasse. Turn right at Schlossgasse until you arrive at the Schloss at Schlossgasse 21. You can park anywhere in front of the Schloss, right (not left) of the first tree from the main gate.
By Train/Bus: For train and bus connections see the website of the Austrian Federal Railway (ÖBB): oebb.at. The closest train station is Trumau Bahnhof and the closest bus station is Traiskirchner Strasse, Trumau. Both stations are walking distance from the Schloss and Campus.
The ITI campus has a few guest rooms available. The town of Trumau has a bed and breakfast and there are other accommodations in nearby towns. Please email or call the ITI office for more information: admissions(at)iti.ac.at.
